Given its popularity on the sub-continent, it’s not surprising Curry Leaf is native to India and Sri Lanka. Other Asian cuisines use it too. It has a subtle flavour; this is one of the many herbs that are fun for cooks to experiment with.

Curry leaves have been used for many centuries in Ayurvedic medicine; they are believed to help alleviate diabetes. Recent scientific research also suggests that at least one of the alkaloids in Curry Leaf (Girinimbine) may have anti-carcinogenic properties.
